Bike maintenance tip from Wheelwright Abbe

Check your spokes regularly!

Check that all the spokes are still tight and straight, your tires are still properly inflated, your brakes are still working properly and your chain is still lubricated.

That way you can intervene in time before your bike gets damaged.

Spokes are sometimes forgotten in checking your bike. A missing spoke may seem negligible, but if you keep cycling around with one spoke less, the other spokes will also begin to break very quickly. As a result, after a while your wheel may even become completely deformed or damaged, requiring the entire wheel to be replaced. Of course, the cost of the repair then increases as well. So when a spoke is broken or loose, it is better not to wait to have it repaired!

Replacing a broken spoke is a small job for de Wielredders and doesn't cost that much. So feel free to come by with this. We will gladly fix it for you!
